Location

Cheronisos Sifnos

Cheronissos is a picturesque settlement in Sifnos, a small fishing village with a golden sandy beach that was once a center of pottery art. It is in a peaceful bay and is one of the safest natural harbors in Greece. It is 15 kilometers away from the island’s capital, Apollonia, and 10 kilometers from the main port in Kamares. This verdant settlement, once renowned for its pottery art, has become a tranquil retreat for fishing and tourist boats. The sandy beach is ideal for families with children, and the tamarisk trees provide natural shade.
In Cheronissos, you will find charming fish taverns located right by the sea, serving fresh fish from the island. On the left side of the beach, there is the chapel of Agios Polykarpos, where one of the largest festivals of Sifnos takes place. At the top of the hill opposite the settlement, you will find the small church of Agios Georgios. The sunset from there is one of the best on the island.
Cheronissos is perhaps the most peaceful and serene settlement in Sifnos, making it an ideal destination for relaxation and unwinding, even during the tourist season.
Immerse yourself in the beauty of Cheronissos as you wander through its enchanting streets. Discover hidden tavernas serving mouthwatering local delicacies and experience the warm hospitality of the island’s residents. Whether you wish to explore nearby secluded beaches, embark on scenic hikes, or simply soak in the breathtaking vistas, Cheronissos offers a haven of tranquility for the discerning traveler.
